Goals
of these projects:

Understand
the sources, dynamics, health impacts, and control measures for
infectious and parasitic diseases at the household, community,
regional, and global levels.

Develop
and implement statistical and epidemiological techniques and
models used to establish causal links between environmental
contaminants and ill-health. Establish links between
environmental and health outcomes and population and economic
development issues.

Generate
practical policy recommendations founded on formal research.

1) Projection Scenarios of MDG
indicators and financial requests: Maternal Mortality Rate
The objective of the project is to determine the most cost effective
ways to reach the Millennium Development Goal of reducing the rate of
maternal mortality by 3/4 by the year 2015 utilizing methods of system dynamics.

Urban Bolivia

determine how smoking affects the urban poor in Bolivia, and to
design policies that reduce the adverse effects of smoking.
