Best Paper Award

Every year at the end of the Bolivian Conference on Development Economics, the Bolivian Academy of Economic Sciences presents the author(s) of the Conference's best paper with a Best Paper Award Certificate and a prize.

Stanislao Maldonado from University of California - Berkeley was the first person to win a BCDE Best Paper Award. Here the President of the Bolivian Academy of Economic Sciences is appointing him with the distinction of being a Foreign Research Fellow of the Academy.

Fransisco B. Galarza from Universidad del Pacífico, Lima, Peru won the Best Paper Award at BCDE2011.

Nestor Gandelman from Universidad ORT (Uruguay) won the Best Paper Award for his outstanding paper "Peer Effects in Risk Aversion" presented at the 4th Bolivian Conference on Development Economics held in La Paz on the 6th and 7th of November 2012.

At the 5th BCDE, the the Best Paper Award went to José Tessada and Jeanne Lafortune for the paper “More Hands, More Power? Estimating the Impact of Immigration on Output and Technology Choices Using Early 20th Century US Agriculture.
