The Institute for Advanced Development Studies (INESAD) hosted and co-organized the 11th PEP Annual Conference and general meetings held in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, from April 30 to May 7, 2014.\u00a0Researchers and representatives of international organizations from more than 30 countries participated at the Conference. The conference had the financial support from the UK Department for International Development (UK Aid<\/a>) and Canada\u2019s International Development Research Centre (IDRC<\/a>). \u00a0The conference was organized in collaboration with the Multilateral Investment Fund of the Inter-American Development Bank (MIF-IDB<\/a>), and also benefited from the support of various donors and partners, such as\u00a0CAF<\/a>\u00a0– Development Bank of Latin America, the Angelo King Institute (AKI<\/a>), CRES<\/a>, GRADE<\/a> and the Laval University<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The conference primary theme was \u201c<\/strong>Inclusive growth and employment in developing countries\u201d and it included a policy forum on the specific theme of “Fostering entrepreneurship for inclusive growth and poverty reduction”. Professor Jeffery McMullen<\/a>, from Indiana University was the keynote speaker at this policy forum which also included two discussion panels.<\/p>\n

I<\/strong>NESAD (www.inesad.edu.bo\/web<\/a>) was created on 2006 with the aim to generate, share and transfer knowledge oriented towards overcoming critical barriers to sustainable socio-economic development. \u00a0Since 2010 INESAD has been supported by the Think Tank Initiative (TTI<\/a>)<\/a> which is a multi-donor program dedicated to strengthening the capacity of independent research organizations in the developing world.<\/p>\n

The Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP<\/acronym>) (www.pep-net.org<\/a>) is an international organization that links researchers globally to enhance capacity for development policy analysis in developing countries.\u00a0PEP<\/acronym>\u00a0research contributes to informing national and international debates related to economic policy, poverty, gender and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
