Andersen, Senior Researchers at Fundaci\u00f3n INESAD, are attending The TTI Exchange, that is taking place from February 18-20 in Istanbul, Turkey.<\/p>\n<p>The Exchange brings together close to 200 think tank researchers, donors, and other research-to-policy stakeholders to explore perspectives on the theme of \u201cResearch Quality: Approaches, Outreach and Impact.\u201d These individuals come together to discuss what research quality means for think tank impact, both in theory and in practice.<\/p>\n<p>Boris Branisa, Ph.D., is attending the event to present the working paper <em>Social institutions and gender inequality in fragile states: Are they relevant for the post-MDG debate? <\/em>at the Southern Voice on Post-MDG; and also participating as a Panelist in the Plenary: <em>Assuring Quality of Research in Think Tanks <\/em>dedicated to reflect on experiences shared and lessons learned on assuring research quality, and highlighting gaps and potentials for further discussion.<\/p>\n<p>Lykke E. Andersen, Ph.D., is attending the event as a speaker in the <em>Simulation and Scenario Analysis <\/em>Parallel Session on <em>Quality in methods: exploring tools for research quality<\/em>, presenting SimPachamama:a simulation tool that models the behavior of an Amazonian community. In this game, the player becomes the mayor of such a town and has to balance policy priorities in order to maximize community wellbeing, while reducing deforestation.<\/p>\n<p>Andersen is also participating as a panelist at the film screening <em>Research to Policy Processes <\/em>dedicated to showcase and celebrate the achievements of 3 think tanks through film, sharing experiences on the research to policy process and discussing opportunities and challenges in various contexts, and share lessons learned from these examples. Andersen is presenting the film about Bolivia\u2019s alternative to REDD+: the Joint Mitigation and Adaptation Mechanism for the Integral and Sustainable Management of Forests and Mother Earth.<\/p>\n<p>The Think Tank Initiative (TTI) is dedicated to strengthening the capacity of independent policy research institutions in the developing world.
