The organizing committee of the 7th Bolivian Conference on Economic Development is very pleased to announce that FRANCISCO H. G. FERREIRA<\/strong><\/a>, senior advisor at the World Bank’s Development Research Group<\/a>, will be one of the keynote speakers at the event.<\/p>\n Francisco holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics. In the World Bank\u2019s Development Research Group, he supervises research programmes about poverty, inequality and agriculture. Previously, he was the World Bank\u2019s Chief Economist for the Africa Region, and he served as Deputy Chief Economist for Latin America and the Caribbean and as co-Director of the World Development Report 2006, on Equity and Development. Additionally, Francisco serves on the editorial board of several prestigious journals (Journal of Economic Inequality<\/em>, the Review of Income and Wealth<\/em>, and<\/em> World Bank Economic Review)<\/em>.<\/p>\n The 7th Bolivian Conference on Economic Development<\/a> is jointly organized by the Society of Bolivian Economists (SEBOL), the Institute for Advanced Development Studies (INESAD), the Bolivian Academy of Economic Sciences (ABCE), and Universidad Privada Boliviana (UPB). The conference will take place the 8th<\/sup> and 9th<\/sup> of December 2016 in facilities of UPB in La Paz, Bolivia.
