La Dra. Lykke Andersen, Investigadora Senior de INESAD, expuso el documento de trabajo, que realiz\u00f3 junto con los Pasantes Embajador, Augustus Griffin, Justus J. Krause y Gabriel Ordu\u00f1a Montekio, denominado \u201cMeasuring Equality of Opportunity in Early Childhood: A Methodological Proposal using Demographic and Health Surveys\u201d<\/strong> el viernes 1 de septiembre, en instalaciones de INESAD.<\/p>\n

El documento propone una nueva forma de medir la igualdad de oportunidades, en ni\u00f1os de la primera edad (0 a 5 a\u00f1os), basada en la importancia de las variables de antecedentes familiares (riqueza, educaci\u00f3n y gen\u00e9tica) sobre el nivel nutricional de cada ni\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

Los autores aplicaron la metodolog\u00eda propuesta a 166 encuestas demogr\u00e1ficas y de salud, de 60 pa\u00edses diferentes, llevadas a cabo entre 1991 y 2015. Los resultados m\u00e1s destacables son el bajo nivel de igualdad de oportunidades en Am\u00e9rica Latina en comparaci\u00f3n con el resto de mundo.<\/p>\n
