COMSERBO workshop in Pando, October 2012Joaquin Mayorga and Lykke Andersen visited Pando to present the study and decision support tools developed to support Pando's conservation program "COMSERBO". We were very well received by Pando's Director of Environment and her team.
Indeed, they insisted we stay a few more days, so Joaquin got to visit the Manuripi Reserve. Here he is pulling the car across the river together with Candido Pastor from CI and Wilson Rocha from TNC.  They were with the Director of the Manuripi Reserve, who has the power to fine illegal activities in the reserve. They stopped a truck driving on a dirt road in the rain (illegal) and in the truck the found this leopard skin (very illegal) and confiscated it.  |
