This year we held two Christmas parties because during the first one the food arrived so early that we didn’t get to finish the planned Christmas games, and we also forgot to get a proper group photo. Even with two opportunities, we only managed a very incomplete group photo:

Our first – and most official – Christmas dinner was held on Monday the 14th of December to secure maximum participation. As usual, the party started with some team building games. The first game was designed to create the teams for the rest of the evening, and consisted of building four burgers with all the right ingredients in the right order without talking. That explains why some people have burger-related pictures on their backs in the photos.

The next game was a warm-up game where people had to shake little balls out of kleenex-boxes tied to their backs. This is surprisingly easy for some, and surprisingly difficult for others.

Here is the winning team:

During the secret-Santa gift exchange, Marcelo received an umbrella. That was in reference to the rain-water accident in his office earlier this month, where his lap-top unfortunately got ruined.

And then the games were interrupted by the arrival of food. Here is Reynaldo Marconi, the Vice-President of INESAD, making a speech about the impressive achievements made by the INESAD team this year.

And this is perhaps the most complete group photo we managed:

After dinner there was plenty of dancing and improvised games, and by midnight we could also celebrate Jose Acuna’s Birthday.

Thanks to INESAD’s Ambassador Internship Program, currently financed by the Royal Danish Embassy in Bolivia, we have a lot of young, international, and talented researchers with a lot of youthful energy, who contribute tremendously to the fun and dynamic work atmosphere at INESAD.

Part II of the Christmas party was held on Friday the 18th of December, but unfortunately most people had already left for Christmas vacation, leaving the rest with huge amounts of not-very-good pizza but plenty of excellent beer. We played the traditional gift-unwrapping game, which we didn’t have time for at our first Christmas dinner, and Cynthia won the Bs. 150 gift voucher for Hipermaxi.

Here is the group photo from the second Christmas party:

We are very fond of our Christmas tree, probably because it took us several weeks to make all the boxes and select the photos representing the best moments of 2015. The lighted origami star, made by Israel, is particularly impressive.

We wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year!
