Out of Bolivia, into Africa, April 2017

It is with a mix of excitement and sadness that we are sending one of INESAD’s founders, Dr. Luis Carlos Jemio, off to Ethiopia. For the next few years, he will be based in Addis Ababa, helping out at Ethiopia’s version of UDAPE.

He will be sorely missed in Bolivia, but he will also be scouting out opportunities for INESAD to expand its research activities in Africa, as our kind of work, aiming at overcoming critical obstacles to sustainable development, is increasingly moving to Africa.

Friday the 21st of April we held a farewell party, first with salteñas at INESAD and later with beer at the Shamrock Irish Pub, to wish Luis Carlos all the best in another exciting new phase of his life.
