The Society of Bolivian Economists (SEBOL), the Institute for Advanced Development Studies (INESAD), the Bolivian Academy of Economic Sciences (ABCE) and Universidad Privada Boliviana (UPB), are jointly organizing the 8th Bolivian Conference on Development Economics, which will be held on October 26th to 27th, 2017, at the UPB Campus in La Paz, Bolivia.
The conference will bring together local and international scholars for the exchange of ideas and discussion of recent results within theoretical and applied development economics research. As a highlight of the 2017 conference, we will have the Keynote Speakers Carlos Végh, Chief Economist for Latin America and the Caribbean at the World Bank and Sara Farley Chief Operating Officer Global Knowledge Initiative.
The 8th Bolivian Conference on Development Economics in La Paz follows up on seven previous conferences held in La Paz, Santa Cruz, and Cochabamba, which had attracted prestigious researchers and policymakers from a variety of developed and developing countries, including Keynote Speakers such as Norman Loayza, Miguel Urquiola, Beatriz Armendáriz, Máximo Torero, Santiago Levy, James Robinson, Rodrigo Soares, Eduardo Lora, Roberto Rigobon, Eduardo Engel, Hans Rosling, Tyler Cowen, David Bishai and Francisco H.G. Ferreira.
