ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMICS

According to the GoTo Think Tank Index Reports of the last several years, INESAD is one of the leading think tanks in the World on environmental issues.

The three main areas we have been working on over the last decade are:

A) CLIMATE CHANGE

INESAD has produced the most comprehensive study of the probable direct and indirect impacts of climate change on the Bolivian economy the rest of this century, and has also carried out studies for several other countries. In addition, INESAD has trained more than 100 government officials in South America in methodologies to assess the likely impacts of climate change.

B) TROPICAL DEFORESTATION

INESAD has prioritized the development of a series of participatory tools to help stakeholders design fair and effective mechanisms to reduce deforestation.

C) GREEN NATIONAL ACCOUNTING

INESAD developed the first unofficial version of the integrated environmental-economic national accounts for Bolivia, and also produced the first and second bi-annual bibliography of green national accounting around the world.
