WOMEN, EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AND DEVELOPMENT

The INESAD Foundation is developing the project “Justice, Empowerment, and Entrepreneurship for Women Imprisoned in Bolivia” with the aim of supporting women in prison in La Paz, Santa Cruz, and Cochabamba so that they can fully exercise their rights, especially in relation to access to justice and due process. The project also promotes their social and labor reintegration, seeking to provide them with real opportunities to rebuild their lives in a dignified and productive manner.

The actions focus on two key areas: on the one hand, providing information and legal support to ensure that women know and exercise their rights; on the other, promoting their economic empowerment through technical training, entrepreneurship training, and skills development that increase their chances of accessing employment or generating their own means of livelihood upon release from prison.

In addition, the project promotes the creation and strengthening of support networks that include family members, communities, social organizations, and potential employers, with the aim of reducing stigma and facilitating reintegration. By combining legal assistance, job training, and community awareness, this initiative seeks not only to improve the quality of life of the beneficiaries, but also to contribute to a more just, inclusive, and supportive social environment.
