The Fifth Economics Research Workshop, organized by the Universidad Privada Boliviana (UPB), the Bolivian Society of Economists (SEBOL) and the INESAD Foundation, was held on August 3 at the UPB’s Postgraduate Auditorium. On this occasion, Joaquín Morales Belpaire, Ph.D. presented the document: “Advocacy NGO’s“, also written by Elena Serfilippi.

Morales y Serfilippi en el documento “Advocacy NGO’s” develop a theoretical model in which Non-Profit Organizations (NGO’s), funded by foreign donors, engage in two development activities: providing poverty alleviation services and advocating for the rights of the poor. They conclude that by presenting an optimized form of the program to the local population and to the government, more details can be given on the constraints and strategies adopted by the NGO’s.
